Life is too short to commit to something that isn’t bringing you happiness. Dr. Hal Blatman speaks on what it took to find a career that stimulates him everyday.

The Interview

Do what you do with integrity. Do what you do that helps people. Do what you do that you believe in. Do something that energizes and excites you. Don’t get stuck in a place where you’re not happy.

I’m in my fourth career since medical school and I found one that stimulates me and excites me every day. Because I wasn’t happy with one, or two, or three, but this one I’ve stuck with. Teaching, like my father taught me, if you’re not happy with what you’re doing, do something else. Doesn’t matter that you’re going to throw away your retirement; it matters that you like what you’re doing and you’re happy.
