Have conviction or you’ll burn out

You don’t become successful by simply checking the box. Dr. Jared Skowron speaks about what it takes to be a student of medicine, and how lessons extend into your career.

The Interview

The most important thing for any student out there, student of medicine, student of anything is to have conviction and to have passion, because every day, you need to be 110% involved in your patients, in your families, in your practice and most importantly in yourself. Without that conviction, without that desire, that never ending desire to reach your goal, then you’re going to burn out. So what you really need to have is that goal of who you want to be and who you want to help. Project it firmly in your mind so that you can always see that every day and know you’re working your way to attain it.
